Council supports Robe book project

The District Council of Robe has agreed to provide financial support for Robe book project. Council has voted to set aside $10,000 in its 2011-12 budget. The money has helped to ensure the book goes ahead, enabling the publisher, Wakefield Press, to incorporate more photos while maintaining a reasonable cover price. “We are delighted that council has seen fit to support this project,” says Wakefield publicity director Angela Tolley. “With the last major publication about Robe dating back to the early 1960s, we feel it is time for another book to celebrate the history, people and beauty of this special place. We sincerely hope people with a connection to Robe will share our enthusiasm for this very worthwhile and exciting project, which we foresee as being of benefit to the whole community and beyond, as well as a glorious collector’s item.”
