Author Liz Harfull updated the District Council of Robe about the book project at its regular monthly meeting last night. She has been working actively on four elements of the project since early January:
1. Taking orignal photos of key places and events over the summer season including Learn to Sail, the Guichen Bay yacht race, Australia Day celebrations, the Offshore Fishing Competition, and beach activities.
2. Interviewing people with interestings stories to tell about the history of Robe and their experiences in the area, with a strong focus on catching up with summer visitors.
3. Setting up the project website, and developing lists for photo shoots, research and interviews of key people and places to incorporate into the book, with considerable assistance from members of the community.
4. Identifying alternative sources of private funding for the project and making arrangements to launch a community appeal for donations.
